We are delighted to have taken delivery of 4 new Feva dinghies just in time for the new sailing season. The Fevas were delivered by Kenny from RS Marine and he gave a workshop on rigging techniques to get the best from the new boats. The boats were purchased using a grant under the 2023 – Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP). The boats are really needed to support our growing membership and our community promotion of sailing especially in local schools.
Most members don’t have their own boats so rely on the club boats. We now have a total of 8 Feva’s. The Feva is an ideal boat as in can be sailed by young and old as a single hander or with a helm and crew. They will also be used for team racing.
The grants are funded by Dept. of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the National Lottery.
